Pagoda of Bich Dong
Visiting the Bich Dong pagoda is undoubtedly one of the most memorable experiences in Tam Coc! The 1428 pagoda complex includes three cave temples located at different levels of the mountain. The Ha Pagoda (lower level), Trung Pagoda (middle level), and Thuong Pagoda are the three (upper level).
The pagoda’s first appearance is nothing short of spectacular! The bridge, surrounded by floating lotus pads and flowers, resembles a watercolour painting. After crossing the bridge, proceed to the ancient gate at the foot of the mountain and begin your ascent.
The top cave temple is a steep 160-step hike because it is close to the mountain’s summit. However, the breathtaking views of the countryside make it well worth the effort. The pagodas’ unique setting, built into the limestone and surrounded by lush forest, gives the impression of discovering a hidden oasis. A fairytale adventure!
Hang Ma Mountain
Climb 500 steps up a snaking path to the top of an incredible cliff viewpoint. When you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the deep valley, waterways, and green mountains. It’s helpful to know that there are two peaks to climb. The path splits halfway through, and both are worth seeing!
Attempt to reach the highest peak, where you’ll find a stone dragon guarding the landscape—a significant symbol of Vietnamese culture. Feel the wind in your hair as you stand on the ledge of the rock face. It is arguably the best place to watch the sun set because it is one of the highest points in the area.
Boat Tour of Tam Coc Cave
Float down the Ngo Dong river, which is surrounded by colourful yellow and green rice fields and is framed by limestone karsts. Have your camera ready because each twist and turn of the river reveals a new breathtaking scene.
Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba
Finish your journey by floating through three large caves filled with dramatic stalagmites and stalactites. Ca cave is the largest of the three caves, measuring approximately 20 metres wide and 127 metres long! The cave tour lasts about 3 hours and is an excellent way to appreciate Tam Coc’s natural beauty.
